Public Relations
AN OVERVIEW
"The power of turning dirt to diamonds"
In the most simple form, public relations can be described as an act of establishing a company's good name in the market by manufacturing credibility among the consumers. According to the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) the conventional definition reads, "Public relations helps an organization and its publics adapt mutually to each other."
The public relations industry is governed by a set of rules issued by the PRSA (the nation's largest professional organization) under their code of ethics: preamble. These codes help to guide the PR industry in an ethical way such that their tactics or strategies remain innocuous for the society and for their competitors.
